How-To Tuesday: Teaching with Twitter

What are you doing this Tuesday at 2:oo? If your calendar is open, join ATS for another How-To Tuesday! This month we’re going to teach you how to use Twitter in a fun, educator-friendly environment.

How-to Tuesday: Teaching with Twitter
11/30/2010, 2:00 PM ~ 3:00 PM 23 Illini Hall

More and more educators are using Twitter to share information, express pedagogical ideas, carry on discussions, and search for content. In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to use Twitter to “tweet” messages, organize the way you view and receive other people’s tweets, use hashtags to search for content, and use the service for live discussion and note-taking. We will also discuss strategies for using Twitter in your teaching. Participants are strongly encouraged to create a free account at twitter.com beforehand in order to have more time during the workshop to explore Twitter’s vast potential as a professional resource.
